It is our vision to incorporate a passion to remember the poor as a vital part of "Flooding the Lake and Beyond with God’s Presence" The vision is only accomplished through prayer and complete dependence on the guidance of the Holy Spirit. In order to serve those around us we rely on the “rivers of living water” to flow out of us. In Jesus’ words: “I do what I see the Father doing”
In Romans we see that our salvation is not dependent upon our ability to do works so we understand that we do not gain “brownie points” with God by our service. However, in James 2 we see that faith without works is dead. That is because true faith produces within us a desire to radiate Christ to those around us. We see the price God paid for our own lives and we understand that He paid that price for the person next to us. We therefore gain an understanding not only of the incredible value of our own life but of each person.
